- Willy -
Piano Instructor
Living and playing piano / keys for over 25 years in SC, keyboardist Willy's musical projects and influences vary widely. Enthusiasm for any type of Western music started at a very young age, with core influences stemming from the music of the late-60’s and seventies, with deep appreciations for jazz, soul, funk, jazz fusion and rock.
Willy and his identical twin brother, David (a prolific guitarist and bassist in his own right), started taking piano lessons at age six, and they started playing music together at an early age. In high school and college, Willy headed both a fusion organ trio and a jazz standard piano trio, performing throughout the state. While pursuing a BA in Economics, he and his brother, David, established the Jazz Ensemble at Wofford College, and they also played classic rock and blues at parties and events throughout the Carolinas and Georgia. During this time Willy also helped to establish the college radio station (WoCo Radio), played numerous events for Habitat for Humanity for the upstate, played arena organ for Wofford Terrier basketball games, and opened for Cowboy Mouth. |
