Step #1: Music Lesson Contract

    CONTACT INFORMATION:

    Important considerations, please carefully read each statement and sign at the end:

    TUITION & OTHER EXPENSES

    • Monthly lesson fees are paid by auto draft during the first week of each month. A 30-day notice is required to cancel enrollment.

    • If client's payment is denied due to insufficient funds, the client will be notified immediately. Payment must be received within a week of the notice and include an additional $10 processing fee or the student will relinquish their lesson slot.

    • In addition to lesson fees, instructors will give direction on which music books, sheet music, and resources the student should purchase. Students can expect to invest at least $20-$60/year.
      ​
    • Students who enroll in lessons must secure their own instrument within a month of beginning lessons as practicing during the week is just as important as the lesson itself. Of course, we will help point you in the right direction!

    SCHEDULING:

    • Students are reserving a specific time slot with the instructor and are expected to arrive on time for their lessons.​ Payment is made for missed lessons. No cancellations can be made; however, if the instructor is given a 24-hour notice before an absence, they will do their best to reschedule the student’s lesson. If reschedules are being requested frequently, the client will be encouraged to consider an alternative time slot. 

    • Anytime there are 5 lessons in a month students are expected to attend all lessons. The extra lessons are “banked” and are used for instructor's sick or vacation days. There are 52 weeks in a year and the instructor will provide lessons for 48 weeks (averaging 4 lessons per month). The instructor will let you know as soon as possible when they will be using a sick / vacation day. Additionally, at times an instructor may need to request to reschedule a lesson.

    • Please be aware that lessons are year-round; however, we will do our best to accommodate make-up lessons during the summer months with vacations if given advanced notice. 

    PRACTICE:

    • ​Although instructors' specific expectations may vary, weekly practice is a requirement. Students who establish good practice habits from the beginning will progress more rapidly and find practice and lessons more enjoyable. No matter the age of a student, there is no overnight magic available that will make him or her a virtuoso. If a student wants to play better, practicing frequently and carefully is the only known solution. Parents must remain involved by providing structure and helping their child reach their practice goals.

    RESPONSIBILITIES & ROLES:

    SC Music Lessons LLC:
    • Completes a background check on each SC Music Lessons LLC instructor
    • Connects students with instructors in their area
    • Handles all billing and consistent, long-term scheduling
    • Provides resources and ongoing support as needed for both clients and instructors
      ​
    Instructor:
    • Teaches weekly, professional music lessons
    • Communicates with clients directly for short-term scheduling (e.g., instructor or client's rescheduling / cancellation)
    • ​Provides a location to teach or travels to clients' homes

    LIABILITY

    • The client agrees that in all circumstances, SC Music Lessons LLC is not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential damages resulting from engaging in music lessons. The client agrees that all legal responsibility and liability are theirs to bear.

Step #2: Payment

Monthly lesson fees are paid by auto draft during the first week of each month. A 30-day notice is required to cancel enrollment. ​The initial payment is for the first month of lessons. After your name is in the billing system, you will manually be enrolled in monthly auto-draft and receive a confirmation e-mail / receipt from Authorized.net after you are enrolled.

Weekly 30-Minute Lessons - 2 Students ($200)
Weekly 45-Minute Lessons ($150)

Step #3: Confirmation E-Mail
