TUITION & OTHER EXPENSES
Monthly lesson fees are paid by auto draft on the 1st of each month.
A 30-day notice is required to cancel enrollment.
If client's payment is denied, the client will be notified immediately. Payment must be received prior to their next lesson or the student will relinquish their lesson slot.
In addition to lesson fees, instructors will give direction on which music books, sheet music, and resources the student should purchase. Students can expect to invest at least $20-$60/year.
Students who enroll in lessons must secure their own instrument within a month of beginning lessons as practicing during the week is just as important as the lesson itself. Of course, we will help point you in the right direction!
STUDENT'S ATTENDANCE
Students are reserving a specific time slot with the instructor and are expected to arrive on time for their lessons.
Payment is retained for missed lessons and cancellations; however, one reschedule can be made each quarter (January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December). A minimum of 24-hour notice must be given in writing by email
and
text to the instructor if needing a reschedule.
The reschedule can only be made during the respective quarter (they cannot be retained for another quarter). Additionally, the reschedule should be made up within the same quarter, when possible.
At their discretion, instructors can require a virtual lesson in lieu of an in-person lesson for a student's reschedule.
To note, similar to other extracurricular activities (e.g., sports teams, dance studios, band, and orchestra), students still receive the value of being a part of the group even if they need to miss on occasion. Tu
ition not only takes into consideration the actual lesson time but also the time instructors dedicate to their professional development, choosing students' repertoire, planning recitals, and more.
INSTRUCTOR'S TIME OFF
Anytime there are 5 lessons in a month students are expected to attend all lessons. The extra lessons are reserved and used for the instructor's sick or vacation days.
There are 52 weeks in a year and the instructor will provide lessons for 48 weeks (averaging 4 lessons per month) during a calendar year (January to December). Because 4 weeks off each calendar year are built into the monthly tuition, the lessons these weeks will not be credited or rescheduled.
Any other lessons missed by the instructor must be made up at a time that is convenient for the student's schedule.
COMMUNICATION:
It is both the client and instructor's responsibility to inform the company's administration if any rescheduled lesson is
not
completed within 3 months or if there are any concerns at any time regarding scheduling or attendance.
PRACTICE:
Although instructors' specific expectations may vary, weekly practice is a requirement. Students who establish good practice habits from the beginning will progress more rapidly and find practice and lessons more enjoyable. No matter the age of a student, there is no overnight magic available that will make him or her a virtuoso. If a student wants to play better, practicing frequently and carefully is the only known solution. Parents must remain involved by providing structure and helping their child reach their practice goals.
