Cello Instructor
Naomi fell in love with the cello at a young age after watching a performance by a string quartet; however, she did not begin taking cello lessons until she was 14, when it was discovered that she had a natural talent for the instrument. She was asked to join the high school orchestra soon after. During this time, she enjoyed the camaraderie of playing in an ensemble with other young musicians and performed in several competitions.
Naomi continued her musical studies at Anderson University in Anderson, SC, where she earned her bachelor's degree in music performance. While in school, she was a member of several ensembles and chamber music groups, as well as the Anderson Symphony Orchestra and the Toccoa Symphony in Toccoa, Georgia. Her string quartet performed at many local weddings and fundraisers as well as school events. Naomi taught cello to several private students while in the Upstate, both at the University and through a local studio. Naomi recently moved to the Charleston area and plans to continue teaching private music lessons, as well as playing cello professionally, while pursuing a master’s degree at the College of Charleston. |
