Originally from the Scranton area of Pennsylvania, Meredith has been residing in the Lowcountry since 2016. Earning her bachelor's degree in music therapy from Charleston Southern University, she currently works full-time as a board-certified music therapist at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital.

It is her passion to use her therapeutic skills with music to empower others and to support positive changes during patients' hospitalizations. Meredith is also a licensed Kindermusik Educator through Kindermusik of Charleston and provides early-childhood music enrichment groups for children and families in the community. 
Meredith has been a member of several vocal and instrumental groups ranging from choirs, jazz combos, wind ensembles, and more since the age of five. While at CSU, Meredith studied voice under the direction of Ricard Bordas, saxophone under Mark Sterbank, and piano under Lin Harness while also completing competencies in guitar. She feels fortunate to have a job where she is able to play a variety of instruments per day and is always finding ways to continue to grow as a musician.

"As a music therapist, I take a person-centered approach to care and education by fostering opportunities to build confidence and competence through individualized lessons. While learning a new instrument, it is easy for students to forget how to enjoy the music that is being created. I make it a priority to customize lessons to fit each student's interests and needs and to keep lessons fun and motivating!"
