As a native of Summerville, Kyle enjoys residing in the Lowcountry! He is a percussionist and educator who earned his bachelor’s degree in music education at Charleston Southern University. While there, he studied percussion under Dr. Michael Haldeman and participated in multiple university ensembles.
He recently received his Master of Music in percussion performance at the University of Southern Mississippi, studying under Dr. John Wooton. While at USM, Kyle held a Graduate Teaching Assistantship, teaching undergraduate lessons, percussion methods and assisting in ensemble rehearsals. During his time in Charleston, he has performed with the Charleston Wind Symphony and the Summerville Community Orchestra. He was a member of the Coastal Surge Drum and Bugle Corps and the indoor percussion ensemble, Equinox Percussion. Kyle has a plethora of experience in many areas of percussion including drum set, rudimental drumming, two and four mallet literature, timpani, Brazilian drumming, steel pan, jazz vibraphone and improvisation. |
