Kaitlyn grew up watching her father direct their church choir and she sat with him at the piano while he played. This foundation gave her an early appreciation for music. She could not wait to choose an instrument to play during band in middle school and soon after she joined the choir as well. Kaitlyn fell in love with singing and had opportunities to travel for competitions and participate in state and regional honor choirs.
During her junior year, she was able to take a music theory class and started to study music from a different perspective. Her senior year she decided to pursue a degree in Music Therapy from Charleston Southern University in order to combine her love for music and helping people. Throughout college, Kaitlyn took private voice and guitar lessons as well as group piano classes. She participated in vocal ensembles including Bel Canto and Concert Singers. |
Additionally, she started working as an activities assistant in a memory care facility and was able to share her love for music with the residents there. In 2022, Kaitlyn graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in music therapy and a minor in psychology. After college, she continued to serve the memory care facility, becoming one of the program managers. She continues to combine her passion for music and her joy of helping others into her work!

Consequently, I strive to prioritize the abilities and needs of each individual student. My desire is that each student will learn the fundamentals of playing an instrument and beginner music theory and have fun during those experiences!"
