John is an educator, performer, and church musician who has spent his life within the Lowcountry of SC. His music career is filled with a variety of experiences that makes him a wonderful teacher! He has worked as a professional musician, opening for major acts including The Coasters, Chairman of the Board, the Drifters, Four Tops and more! His experience as a sales representative and supervisor with Musicorp has given him extensive knowledge in guitars and music equipment. He has developed, directed, and played in worship bands including Cathedral of Praise and Seacoast West Ashley. Since 2014, he has been a part of the Church at Life Park's worship team. |
John is glad to be a part of the SC Music Lessons team, currently providing both virtual and in-home lessons within Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas!
John's Teaching Style:
John's eclectic experiences and knowledge of a variety of genres allow him to cater each lesson he teaches to the specific interests of his students. Over the past 40 years he has taught many students and enjoys adapting the lesson for the youngest learners to older adults. John works to find what type of music interests each student. Once a student's interest is piqued, they are motivated to practice which allows them to excel in their learning!
To note, John requires a parent to be present throughout each lesson, which allows the parent to best support the student's learning.
