A native to Charleston, South Carolina, Iris is a Filipino-American musician with experience in performing, music instructing, and providing music therapy services. Iris began her passion for singing at an early age and enjoys spreading the joy of music with young musicians. She most recently earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Therapy from Charleston Southern University (CSU). She studied classical voice under Dr. Jennifer Luiken at CSU and Mr. John Stoudenmire at Goose Creek High School. She has performed in various classical recitals throughout her undergraduate degree and is an accomplished choral singer. |
In the spring of 2024, Iris presented an elective voice recital with classical repertoire and competed in the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) auditions at the state and regional level. Additionally, in 2024, she performed the lead role of Maria in The Sound of Music at CSU. Most recently, she completed her music therapy internship at Prisma Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia, SC, supporting children with a variety of diagnosis.
