​Crystal grew up in Summerville and began taking piano lessons when she was seven. She received her undergraduate degree in Music Education from Charleston Southern University and her Master's degree from Shenandoah Conservatory of Music.

Crystal taught in public schools for 17 years and retired when she had her two children, Olivia (11) and Temperance (8). She has been teaching private piano lessons for several years and enjoys the one on one time with students of all ages!

Crystal's Teaching Style

"My goal as a music educator is to make musically literate students who can express their emotions through the playing the piano. I try to instill good practice skills in my students so they can get the most out of their at home practicing. I am encouraging and like to think of myself as a bit humorous. I like to make personal connections with my students so we are comfortable with each other!
