When Chrissy begin piano lessons at the age of eight, she knew she loved to play the piano, however, had no idea what was in store for the future. She attended college with the intention of being an elementary school teacher, but decided to add music to her degree. She found out teaching music was her real joy and has been teaching music for over 30 years from young children to adult students! Chrissy has worked in schools providing 1:1 and group instruction and has given private lessons out of her home. She has guided children in musical programs, competitions, recitals, and even public performances. She is excited to be a part of the SC Music Lessons LLC team and have the opportunity to share her love for music with her students! |
Chrissy's Teaching Style:
"Over the 10 years I took piano lessons, I had 5 different teachers. From these diverse experiences I developed my own method for teaching music. I have each student learn basic music notation, as well as aspects important to master voice or piano. Reading music, developing rhythm, as well as learning artistry and expression are all a part of my lessons. I also believe it is important to provide students the opportunity to perform through recitals.
Finally, I feel it is important for my students to know they are important. A good relationship is key."
