- Abby S. -
Piano Instructor
As a young girl, Abby began fiddling on a black, upright Yamaha piano that was passed down from her Great-great grandmother. Abby regularly held “concerts” for her family in the dining room, banging on the keys and pretending she had just composed a great masterpiece for her audience. Through the persuasion of her grandmother, Abby started taking piano lessons at the age of 9 and eventually found herself at the School of the Arts playing real concerts for her family in a recital hall.
Abby graduated from the College of Charleston in Spring 2021 receiving a B.A. in Music with a concentration in Music Theory and Composition. Throughout college, she studied Jazz and Classical piano and composed multiple works for student-held concerts. In January 2021, Abby had the opportunity to compose an original piano composition for the Halsey Institute’s project “Displacements” where she was able to personally perform and record her piece. She currently teaches piano and gigs around Charleston! |
